Baby Steps...

With 2020 just days away I am wondering where 2019 went. I have been having a great time eating and drinking since Thanksgiving. This time of year is meant for celebration with family, good friends and yes, great food! I'm definitely feeling the effects of overindulgence though. Are you too? This time of year is when a lot of people start to think about New Year's resolutions, which most of the time include something for their health or physical activity. Whether it's joining a gym or signing up for an online exercise program, a great way to go first and foremost is finding a pair of comfortable sneakers and splurging on them. Remember people, walking is free! The sneakers however, are not. I recently, over the last year, discovered the Hoka One One brand and love them. They're pricey, but worth it and their website always has something on sale. They also have wide sizes and you can search the sneakers based on the level of comfort you want in the soles (plush, stable, etc.). Check them out https://www.hokaoneone.com/ . As for my mindset, which I feel is a huge part of overall health, I am giving myself a break and just letting the next few days of more celebration happen without guilt. My philosophy is that true health is MIND, BODY, SPIRIT, DIET. The word "diet" meaning what we choose to eat, not "going on a diet". Over the next week I plan on adding a recipe section to this website for easy, affordable recipes. Enjoy your New Year's Eve and Day, however you choose to spend them. My family has big plans for a 1,000 piece puzzle on New Year's Eve and we'll also be hanging out, eating, drinking, being merry and trying not to fight over board games (we'll definitely be fighting over board games).
