Ingredients: wild caught fresh or frozen salmon filets, maple syrup, soy sauce
Appliances/Tools: Air-fryer or oven (you can use a toaster oven as well), silicone basting brush or spoon, foil (optional).
Prep: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line sheet pan with foil if desired and turn up edges to retain juices. Place salmon skin side down. Using a basting brush or drizzle with spoon, spread maple syrup on top of salmon. Use spoon to drizzle soy sauce to taste. Generally you do not need to worry about salmon sticking because of the fat content - but if you want to be sure you can brush foil or pan with oil.
Cooking instructions: For oven, bake uncovered at 350 for approx. 15-20 minutes for fresh or thawed salmon, or 25-30 for frozen. For air-fryer, bake at approx. 10-15 min. for fresh, or 20-25 min. for frozen. At lowest time for each method check on it once - when salmon flakes with fork it is done. However, use your own preference. I personally like this recipe a bit browned and crispy. I also choose to use a small piece of foil because it helps hold the juices in the salmon.
Substitutions:
maple syrup: honey or agave syrup
soy sauce: coconut or liquid aminos
